Class of 2013 Bids Farewell to Agoura High

The 560 graduates of the class of 2013 bid a final farewell to Agoura High School Thursday evening.

Larry Misel, who is retiring as principal this year, addressed the students and standing-room only crowd gathered on the football field.

"I am very proud to have been your principal. And I will keep each of you in my memory. Please do the great things for which you are destined. It is your time; use it to make a difference," Misel told the crowd.

The evening's program included speeches by seniors Jamie Hill and Allison Royal, two musical performances by the school's students, a class reception by School Board President Lesli Stein and recognition of the valedictorians and salutatorians.

The event was topped off by the traditional fire works display.

Misel later told Patch that the program was a bittersweet experience for him.

"I'm going to miss the kids, and the faculty and staff that works with them," he said. "But I know that Brian Mercer [incoming principal] will do a phenomenal job."
