Meet Benson a 2-year-old male Pit bull who came to the shelter as a stray along with another “Pittie” friend. Like most “Pitties,” his most wonderful pastime is simply being with people. That’s it, spending time with his ‘peeps”. He just loves every stroke of affection and attention from people and he melts right into you with every ounce of his being.

Here are some things you should know about him:

·      Let’s start with how handsome he is. Have you looked at his photo? Who can resist that smile?

·      He might be housebroken because he waits to go potty until he is outside his kennel.

·      He loves to spend time in the real room relaxing, snoozing, chewing on a bone, and snoozing again.

·      He is still young, so he will need some training, especially on leash because he is very strong. However, the volunteers have been working on his leash skills and will explain the training methodology.

As mentioned, he needs additional training and like all dogs he wants to please. He is a sweet young, big boy with lots of energy, but he is smart and a fast learner. Just remember, it’s all up to you.

He will need an owner who is dedicated, who will exercise and train him. He will need a yard and lots of time to run and play and a person/family who has a high energy level to match his own. If you commit to him, he will commit to you. After all, when you adopt a dog, it should be for life; and a wonderful life it can be! So if you have an apartment, then he is not the one for you, but keep looking at the shelter because there are lots of pups that could be the perfect match.
