Her rights were violated. If "I" have to look at all the jesus propaganda, then I shouldRead More be able to voice my right to free speech. While I would never choose such a plate for fear that my car would get vandalized, I totally support this woman's right to request it.

The best way to boil eggs for taste and minimal to zero cracks/fractures: 1) bring eggs to roomRead More temperature 2) bring a large pot of salted water to boil 3) when water boils, turn off heat and lower eggs into water (a hand held mesh strainer is great) 4) put tight fitting lid on pot 5) set timer for 17 minutes **a cast iron pot is great because it will hold the heat for longer

I don't like debit cards either, it is a direct line to one's bank account. What I didn't like wasRead More my bank replacing my ATM card with a dual usage ATM/debit card without asking me...I made them cancel it and give me an ATM functionality card only. Some people don't have credit line established yet (like my college student son) and have no choice but to use a debit card instead of credit card. I take precautions and have it assigned to an isolated checking account, and urge son to monitor it closely (set up email alerts), good training for future financial independence.

This is a really tragic story. It scares me. I work with several young people who put video gamesRead More ahead of their kids. They get the big earned income tax credit checks, buy game consoles, big screen tvs, games up the ying yang. Their kids get yard sale flip flops, wear torn under sized clothes. They give their kids cough syrup to put them to sleep and stay up playing games. I pray no of them would ever do this.

David Greenberg April 20, 2014 at 10:39 am
So what you're saying william is that anyone who comes along and claims "PTSD",Read More "ABUSE", blah, blah blah should get a free pass? Why have laws then? The whole concept of making something a criminal act is that we want to discourage it from happening in the first place, by putting deterrents into effect. One such deterrent is PRISON, another is the Death Penalty. If this person was being abused, she had options BEFORE coming to this point - for whatever reason, she make a decision to kill someone, and a Jury of her peers determined her guilt. So off to jail she goes - hopefully FOREVER.

California unemployment up .1 pct as reported today. Let them move and if the pepper supplierRead More doesn't survive so be it. Harsh yes!! Remember that this company is now under the control of the regulators of the AMQD and guess what they are a power unto themselves. CA is bleeding business. But hey, you elect who you do, you are required to suffer the consequences. So if the workers voted for the folks now in Sacramento, then they are also part of the problem. Yep, it will hurt them a lot more than the owner moving.
Don April 18, 2014 at 10:34 am
@Debbie, mostly assumptions. The pepper supplier the job loss is 50 minimum wage line jobs. I'dRead More also check their legal status, then you'll know if he took jobs from legal residents I'm not being crass both sides decided to arrogantly say "mine's bigger". Now that they've exposed themselves both sides want us to feel sorry for them. Let the cards fall the way they fall and then insist that the lesson be implemented for future issues. If you really want to have empathy, why don't you evaluate the overall plans of the various City governments that pick and choose the winners by tax abatements. Then have empathy for that group that is currently not part of the chosen few.

There are implements that could be attached in the plant that would have prevented the discomfortRead More and possible injury to others. The owner did not put thos things in place in order to protect others. The City did the right thing by clamping down on his irresponsibility. They want you to put the money in the machine. Have they lowered the prices? No. Now when you go to fast food places they want you to do their job for them. Pour your own drinks. Put the soda machine behind the counter and do the work that you want the minimum wage increase for.

Lorelei Shark April 16, 2014 at 09:00 am
I support Marianne Williamson because she reflects my values. I want my country back. I want my kidsRead More and grandkids to have the same opportunities that I had and that my parents had, but they don't and it's getting worse daily. SCOTUS and the Oligarchs have gutted citizen's basic rights. The legislature is creating circumstances which harm middle America and the poor. We the people need to regain control of our country. The only way we can do this is to put new people, with an agenda for the people, in power. I understand the skepticism, because politicians are not us and can't be trusted. They lie and do what's right for their backers and themselves. This is exactly why I'm supporting Marianne Williamson, because she is not that politician. She truly cares about the travesties occurring in our country and has chosen to focus her energy on this election. One which could put her in Washington, to represent us as an independent spirit and a force of power, to fight against the status quo. Because celebrities know and admire her, isn't a negative, it means they support her views also. Some are willing to produce and/or perform in an event - a way for her to raise money for a her campaign. Her war chest consists of $2600 maximum contribution per person. She will not take the big money because she wants to make this a people's campaign. She doesn't have the money of a Ted Lieu nor Wendy Greuel, but she has much more to offer than either of them will ever have, a no-strings attached, rational look at our country's modus operendi. Most of all, she has love in her heart, for all of us, which empowers her to stand up and for fight for us. That's why I'm going to the polls on June 3rd and casting my vote for Marianne Williamson to represent me in Washington. No, I'm not attached to her campaign. I just believe that if we keep sending the same people to represent us - how can we expect anything to change. PLEASE VOTE on JUNE 3rd. Have a voice in your government. It's more powerful than any amount of money... it's the only true power we have.

The efficacy of members of the female persuasion in California politics best and very accuratelyRead More analyzed by Bert Prelutsky of LA TIMES below: (LET'S NOT ADD TO THE PROBLEM) "Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're Number One. There's no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on 'Macbeth'. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words." We need bomb-sniffing police dogs or military dogs. We also need to make the FBI accountable forRead More their failure to follow up on Russian warnings that Tamerlan Tsarnaeyev was being radicalized. The real jihadist in the family was the Tsarnaeyev's brothers' mother. The Russians knew that but didn't send the video proving it to the FBI. Even so, they told the FBI enough that they should have been on their trail, and the FBI blew it. And why weren't they on top of the former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who shot to death three non-Jews in an anti-semitic attempt to kill Jews in Overland Park? Why do we allow so much surveillance of citizens when the results are so disappointing? It's not like the FBI is getting the job done. They miss a lot of really big, obvious targets.
