CORRECT RON.....you and I can see the need for it, why can't the powers that be? Well typically,Read More just as with the fiasco regarding the impounding of cars driven by Illegals with no license or insurance....well it is fine to take cars from others, but the minorities would have no way to get to work and it would be a hardship etc. etc. etc...Oh now there is a great big deterrent...NOT !!! Is it any wonder at all that things are the way they are and just get worse....no consequences to their actions and City Hall is protecting them, regardless of what Cathy White and her Liberal associates would have everyone believe.

Drivers should be instructed to call a particular phone number when they spot the License Plate andRead More give location and direction but do not pursue or confront. These should only be for "injury accidents", not just property dammage that can replaced by insurance.

So many young men do so much worse, and doing stupid things for a kid of his age is so common.Read More Adults hating on this boy are so disgusting. He is someone's son, and I bet you did some stupid things at his age. We all did, and few of us had anything we wanted and millions of dollars. Haters suck. Straighten your path Justin. You have accomplished more than any of your haters and you are only 20
timothy July 9, 2014 at 11:59 pm
I love it when idiots defend other idiots by using the "hater" term. No, I never didRead More anything THAT stupid nor did any of my friends. And how dare you attempt to make Justin sound like just a normal kid. He near lot of help.
Rich Manners July 10, 2014 at 02:31 pm
The DA must be an idiot! Bieber can do this sentence standing on his head, and he'll use it to showRead More everyone how tough he is and gain standing with his fans. $81,000 means absolutely nothing to him - he uses it for toilet paper. What this spoiled brat needs is some real jail time with hardened criminals to teach him what the real world is like. As long as we keep giving these "celebrities" like Bieber or Lindsay Lohan a slap on the wrist and do nothing, the more they will act out as horrible role models for our kids. Come on, court system, do something for once!

This is wonderful news! Now border patrol buses have a destination for those thousands of illegalsRead More crossing the border into the US ..... CALIFORNIA!!! I can just see the smiles on their faces when the buses drop them off in Malibu and L.A. - perhaps at the headquarters of ICE OUT. I guess the borders are open after all and Central Americans are more than welcome on the beaches of California!

I appreciate your comment Jeremiah and I don't think I could've said it better myself, so I won't beRead More redundant. Except to repeat only one thing-- This is why Mr Melhman: "the age limit is based on the medical risk profile that would endanger both the employee and the public he is tasked with serving. The likelihood of sudden debilitating circumstances increases with age and these jobs have a stress level which can precipitate it." I'm still of working age yet from day to day I have bizarre health issues pop up. I run abt 3-5 miles per day, 5-6 days a week. I'm in excellent health. I'm also clever and a bright individual. Yet I've begun having pains in places, and I'm also getting forgetful. My eyesight is decreasing. I get stressed easier than I used to. Because this is our natural human aging process. we age. we just do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, in reading this article, I didn't read, nor did I realize we were discussing being let go at a certain age. I thought we were talking about applying for the job, where can age limit is set due to medical and statistical averages. So I agree with you, I do not think a person should be let go the day they turn 62. Most others do also, that;s why we are offered pensions at particular ages for incentive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Lastly, your point using vote vs age limits is like comparing dogs to elephants, and completely irrelevant. We're talking about a person's capability to perform a certain type of job.

**** And I bet SouthernBelle knows something many women and men have forgotten - it's a whole lotRead More more fun acting out the roles when men act like men and women act like women and we all play the game and enjoy life as equal but thankfully different! **** Any good man who values his life knows women are superior to men and don't argue with them because even if you win, you lose!! :-) **** hahahahahahahahahaha!!! Yep, exactly how I feel. There are many many careers out there to choose from. Maybe a girl's passion is to put on 100 lbs of equipment and run up stairs to fight a fire and carry out a 250 lb man- but I'm guessing more aren't than are interested in that. But I'll tell you what, if my daddy's house catches fire and some gal runs up his stairs she best be able to carry him down because HIS life depends on it. And if she can't, then her taking a job she's unable to perform is just wrong.
southernbelle July 12, 2014 at 04:01 pm
one more thing--Mr Melhman, Not sure how long you've been in the area or if you are familiar with LARead More county hiring for Police and fire. But over the past 10 yrs they have had to lower their physical ability testing, as well as their hiring requirements because they had to account for women's physical abilities, and not enough men or women were passing the orals due to prior drug use (even trying it once counts), criminal records (DUI's fall in this), etc. This is also why the quality is lower than it used to be. We haven't seen nothing yet! It's abt to get a whole lot worse because no one wants police officer jobs anymore. so sad how we treat them!

Chastity Lake July 5, 2014 at 04:34 pm
Buster - random DUI checkpoints are constitutional. Lorelei - no federal or state court can overruleRead More the SC.
Chastity Lake July 5, 2014 at 04:36 pm
There is only a time/manner/place restriction on DUI stops in California. A static location isRead More allowed, with every car that passes through checked. The reason is to avoid targeting based on impermissible grounds.

molly rogers June 26, 2014 at 07:40 am
I wish everyone would go to the parks or beaches. They have beautiful displays there. Last yearRead More my neighbourhood was like a war zone with all the illegal fireworks. They literally shook my house. A neighbours's tree caught on fire, another's attic caught fire, another's porch was scorched. All the poor animals are terrified and several traumatized dogs were running down the middle of the road. We could not catch them. Everything is so dry because of the drought so they are a fire hazard. Not to mention all the injuries that occur every year. Used to be it was just July4th but now they start weeks before and end weeks afterwards.

Since LA County represents 26.1% of California's census (estimated as of 2013), it would appear thatRead More it is doing better than the rest of the state, if it is only experiencing 24.4% of car thefts. This article appears to be a non-issue….

I have lived in the South Bay for over 50 years and never had my car, truck or motorcycle stolen butRead More I also use my head as to where I park and secure them.
Genv Erac June 28, 2014 at 09:34 pm
that's funny I just read an article on 10 top cities to have your car stolen from. and 9 were inRead More northern cali,1 was in Washington state. there was no cities listed for any southern cali location that recorded above average car thefts. so how can LA county be home to 25% of stolen car totals for the state??

To say 'rocked' is an exaggeration. these were tiny little shakers. none of us noticed it as weRead More sat down for breakfast. we live at Zuma, what is strange is feeling a quake no where near here. couple of months ago there were some decent afternoon rollers and when we checked the earthquake site there was nothing. still to this day after we reported it. nothing. however these were an hour apart and there were measurable quakes up the coast in northern Cali. an hour before we felt these. hmmmm
Stuart Ebert June 21, 2014 at 02:44 pm
Yeah, there was another article in the LATimes last week about the Oklahoma quake activity. The barRead More graph that was included was most telling - basically no quakes for twenty years and then sudden increase past five years. I'm sure that a chart of CA quake activity would LOOK THE SAME. If you feel something odd is going on - you're right.

This is exactly why I don't help women anymore. There have been several times in my life, when I'veRead More helped a woman who should never have been in a violent relationship with a thug in the first place. And every time, they've eventually put themselves back into the same situation. Going forward, rather than help, my response will be to laugh. These tramps are not worth it.

Strange how we aren't seeing many Catholic abuse stories in the mainstream media since the new PopeRead More is an admitted Communist. Coincidence, or does the media like the fact that they finally have something in common with a pope?
