With fond memories,

I will always remember the joy I had when coming to Calamigos and seeing Grant in his element. I…Read More have so many great memories hearing his stories of adventure and his love for nature and the outdoors. He was truly a statesman and held such high moral standards for himself and everyone around him. My brother Brian was a camp counselor there back in the 70s and he looks back at that experience with wonderful memories as well. Thank you Grant and Ruth for being a part of our lives and for giving so many a love of camping and the great outdoors. He will be sorely missed. His legacy carries on in his great family.
Lovingly,
Cindy Foran (1st cousin, once removed)

I believe it's not about entitlement as much as it is about setting expectations appropriately for…Read More your kids. If a family doesn't have a Harvard budget, why have the kids apply there? Or make sure when they do apply that you have "the talk" with them prior to sending in that application . . . "hey, we would be proud to see you accepted but it is not in the cards for us to be able to send you" sure goes down much easier than a message after the fact that you aren't wiliing/able to do it.

She used my Dad's office as her dressing room when she was shooting on location at Whittier College.…Read More She asked to meet him so she could thank him personally for giving up his office. He was really blown away -- said she was incredibly gracious. I remember him also commenting on how tiny she was and on her incredible eyes. Clearly a Movie Star of the variety we just don't have anymore.

Around 1984 I was working as a bartender in the American Airline VIP lounge at LAX when her flight…Read More was delayed for several hours. Both she and the two people traveling with her were very kind and polite. Seeing how beautiful she was up close was really something beauty but her inner beauty seemed to radiate.
