Construction at LAX to Affect Terminal Roads

Prepare ahead when making your summer getaway plans.

Starting Tuesday, the roads connecting travelers to terminals at LAX will start closing to accommodate construction.

The three curving inner lanes on lower World Way, between the west end of Terminal 3 to the north end of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, will
be closed. Taxi and van service will be shifted to Terminal 2.

The curving curbside lane of upper World Way, between the west end of Terminal 3 to the north end of International terminal will be closed through July 2012. Pedestrians can still use the sidewalk.

Escalators and stairs on the north side of Bradley terminal–between the terminal's north end on lower and upper World Ways will be closed through
September 2012. The escalator on the south side will stay open.

Intermittent lane restrictions on lower World Way will occur nightly through June 2012 in front of Terminal 7.  Little to no traffic impact is expected, because the lanes will be closed from 1 a.m. until 5 a.m.

The closings are to accommodate the $4.1 billion makeover of the International terminal, which is being done in part to serve the gigantic Airbus 380s.
