Brock Redmond Returns to High Performance Coaching

Agoura High coach Brock Redmond was selected for the fourth consecutive year to coach for the Southern California high performance girls volleyball global challenge team.

"I just returned home last week from coaching the SCVA High Performance Global team in Europe," Redmond wrote in an email to Patch. "We had a 2 week trip consisting of sightseeing and playing volleyball."

The tournament, which took place over four days in Pula, Croatia, was made up of 21 teams and 2 divisions, Redmond wrote.

"Our team consisted of 15 and 16 year old girls from all over Southern California and Nevada," he wrote.

His team took the Silver medal, losing in the gold match to the Croatian Youth National team, he said.

Redmond, a member of the Redmond coaching legacy at Agoura High (brother Chance and sister-in-law Jackie Redmond are part of the school's athletic program), has been coach of the Girls Varsity Volleyball at the high school for the past five seasons and has been the head coach for Reef Volleyball Club in Thousand Oaks for 13 seasons.

In a previous article, Redmond told Patch that he lives by the philosophy of "practicing the way you want to play."

He said he uses high reps and high intensity in his practices and varies the drills to accommodate to each player's strengths and abilities.

“Every play is a learning experience and a chance to improve. If you set your goals high and work hard, you will achieve greatness," he told Patch.
