Agoura Adventures: Chesebro Canyon Trails

Andrew Cohen takes us on yet another hike in Agoura Hills.

Chesebro Canyon: Chesebro Canyon is very popular with Agoura hikers, bikers and horse riders. It spans hilly, rolling grasslands covered with lots of low-lying Oak and Sycamore trees. The area is flooded with hiking trails that are very well maintained by the National Park Service.

Location: From Highway 101/Ventura Freeway in Agoura Hills, exit on Chesebro Road. Continue one block straight ahead, past the stop sign, to Palo Comado Canyon Road and turn left. Drive 0.3 miles to Chesebro Road and turn right. Continue 0.7 miles to Cheseboro Canyon Road and turn right. The trailhead parking lot is 0.2 miles ahead.

Featured trails: The start of Chesebro trail is a flat dirt road for a couple miles and ends in the Sulfur Springs singletrack, which is more of an intermediate ride. Chesebro Canyon Trail is 1 mile long, and nestled along a river stream. The Chesebro Canyon View trail is 0.7 miles and has a moderately steep incline to a view of the local community and surrounding mountains.
