A New Race, New Technology Debut at This Year's Reyes Adobe Days' Road Races

A 10-mile race and live runner tracking is being introduced this year during the weekend-long festivities of Reyes Adobe Days.

The organized road races are one of the most anticipated events of the annual three-day Reyes Adobe Days (RAD) festival being held October 5-7. The races will take place Sat., Oct. 6.

What began as a 5K in 2005 evolved into a 10K just last year. This year, a 10-mile race has been added.

“People like longer distances and there’s not a lot of 10-milers in the area,” said Danny Greenberg, race director. “It’s becoming a popular distance because it doesn’t take as much training as the half-marathon.”

Greenberg also owns Endurance Events, which organizes and produces The Dole Great Race of Agoura, another widely popular local race that usually takes place in the springtime.

Both the 10K and the 10-mile races will be point-to-point with scenic landmarks along the way, starting from the north end of Reyes Adobe Road at Yerba Buena Elementary School, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"yerba-buena-elementary-school"} --> to,
