Two Schools, One Campus: Big Problem

Fountainwood neighbors in Agoura Hills complain to the Las Virgenes Unified School District.

When two schools occupy the same campus, the resulting traffic and noise can impact the community.

Residents of the Fountainwood neighborhood in Agoura Hills have had enough and are asking the Las Virgenes Unified School District to do something about the situation. Neighbors of the Sumac School on Calmfield Avenue are concerned with the increasing enrollment at the adjacent Mariposa School of Global Education.

“The last three years have been pretty horrendous. It’s not a viable situation,” Pam Williams, who has lived across the street from Sumac School for 13 years, told the Ventura County Star. “Our main concern is traffic safety and the deterioration of the quality of our area.”
