T.H.E. Event is Back

The second annual school district fundraiser, organized by the T.H.E. Foundation, will offer food, fun and star-studded entertainment.

The second annual, star-studded T.H.E. Event fundraiser for the Las Virgenes Unified School District will take place at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center June 8.

All proceeds raised will support the schools' teachers and counselors, coordinators said in a press release.

“Within the last year, T.H.E. Event has rallied local businesses and corporations to join the Las Virgenes School District in honoring and supporting the future of our children,” Marc Hernandez, co-chair of  T.H.E. Event and president of T.H.E. Foundation, said in the press release. “We’re thankful for our sponsors’ ongoing support and understanding of public education and the importance of fully-funded schools.”.

Last year's fundraiser

Once again, Band From TV–featuring Greg Grunberg of NBC’s Heroes and Alias; Jesse Spencer (violin), from Fox’s House; James Denton (guitar) from Desperate Housewives; Bob Guiney (vocals), who appeared on The Bachelor and is now the host of HGTV’s Showhouse Showdown; Adrian Pasdar (guitar), of Heroes and the new series Ultimate Spider-Man; Scott Grimes (keyboard/vocalist) from American Dad, ER, and Robin Hood; Anthony Ruivivar from NBC's Third Watch and The Adjustment Bureau–will perform rock n' roll classics.

Emceed by Chris Harrison (ABC's The Bachelor/The Bachelorette) the festivities will also include a silent and live auction.

Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to sample cuisine from such local restaurants as Brent’s Deli, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, Gladstones, Mastro’s, Roy’s, Umami Burger as well as sample wines from labels like Silver Oak, Bevan Cellars and Tercero.

New this year is an online silent auction that is being run with the help of Scott Merrin of Silent Partners, a Calabasas-based auction company. This new platform will allow bidders from across the country to participate and support our local schools. Starting May 30, you can bid online on unique items like a day on a 42’ Catalina yacht or a 7-night stay in Barbados. Go to www.TheEventParty.org.
