Evan Bartelheim joins the school district administration as the Director of Instruction, the Las Virgenes Unified School District recently announced.
In his post, Bartelheim will work across all areas of curriculum and instruction to help the District embed critical instructional strategies for 21st century learning, including project-based learning that integrates technology with real world applications.
Bartelheim has over 15 years of education experience, most recently with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) in the Regional Occupational Program. There he was responsible for developing curriculum and providing instructional support for teachers. His educational experiences include extensive work with assessment and data analysis.
Bartelheim received his bachelor's degree in creative writing and English literature from USC and his master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nevada–Reno.
In addition to working with LACOE, Bartelheim's career in education includes working for Los Angeles Unified School District as a teacher and district-level program adviser.
He resides in Santa Monica with his wife and twin daughters.
Of the addition of Bartelheim and to the district administration, Superintendent Dan Stepenosky said, "...we have added tremendous expertise and great passion for education to our leadership team."
