Local High School Changes Format, Location

Indian Hills High School, an alternative high school currently located on the Agoura High School campus, is changing its format and breaking into two campuses.

"We found that attendance had been low in recent years," said Rose Dunn, assistant superintendent- personnel. "So we needed an alternative plan to better meet the needs of the kids."

Starting in the fall, programs will be held at Agoura High and at Calabasas High School. Each school will be presided over by the respective high school principals.

"The curriculum itself won't be significantly different," Dunn said. "The materials will  be presented with the same rigor ... And there will be different teachers."

Dunn said that the classrooms at Agoura will move and new ones will be established at Calabasas.

According to the school's current website:

Indian Hills is a school designed for kids who struggle with traditional high school, Dunn said.

According to the school's website: "Students at Indian Hills High School have a very special opportunity to excel in an environment that is nurturing and small."
