National Park Service Lecture and Field Trip – Art, Photography, and Preservation

A lecture and field trip that literally demonstrates
how art and photography have helped to preserve and establish some of the first national parks will be open to the public Saturday, February 18,
starting at 2 p.m.

The free event, hosted by park ranger Anthony Bevilacqua, will be in two parts starting with the lecture "Art, Photography and Preservation" at the National Park Service Visitor Center, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand
Oaks. The lecture runs from 2 - 3:30 p.m. Photographers are invited to bring their cameras and participate in the second part, beginning at 4 p.m., a Sunset Photo Walk at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park.

The lecture will also cover how art and photography have helped to preserve and establish some of the first national parks.

After the lecture the group will head over to Rancho Sierra Vista with cameras to capture the light of dusk as it passes over majestic Boney Mountain.

Further information is available at the NPS Visitor Center, 805-370-2301.
