April 26: Gourds and Used Books

Donate used books to charity, learn artistic gourd techniques and play a little badminton.

Do you have books you just don't need anymore? Why not donate them for a good cause. For the rest of the week, a former student is collecting gently used K-8th grade books at the morning drop-off loop for a Girl Scout Silver Award community service project.  

3. Fifth Annual Festival of Scholars at Cal Lutheran

The week-long festival showcases the scholarly works of CLU’s undergraduate and graduate students in all disciplines across the university. All events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Office for Undergraduate Research at 805-493-3795.

4. Gourd Society Meeting

Beginners welcome at this on-going workshop of gourd artists. Experience new techniques and ideas. Gourds available. For more info, call Dorie at 818-702-8020. The event takes place at the (3815 Old Topanga Canyon Rd, Calabasas) at 7 p.m.

5. Open Badminton

The badminton program is open to the public from 6-10 p.m. Bring your own equipment, and sign in at the front desk upon arrival.
