Blog Post: Fourth Of July TV Marathons You Might Want To Catch!

Two classic sci-fi television series marathons begin at 8 a.m. on July 4th.

Nothing too exciting to do on the 4th? Want to just veg out and relax? Well, if you're a sci-fi/fantasy fan, you'll want to catch two different all-day marathons.

It might be hard to choose though between two of the most revered series of that genre. I'm not going to tell you which one I'll be watching–but in all fairness maybe I'll switch back and forth awhile.

First there's the original Twilight Zone, the classic series that still holds up some 50 years later. That airs on the SYFY Network beginning at 8 a.m. The other series is Joss Wedon's Firefly, a show that had a loyal fan base (me included)– which is still growing–and stars Nathan Fillion (ABC's Castle). It will air all day on the Science Network (somewhere around the Discovery Channels) also beginning at 8 a.m. And if you've never seen either one, well then you're in for a treat.

TWILIGHT ZONE:

Syfy takes viewers into another dimension with the marathon by transporting viewers into a fifth dimension with its traditional The Twilight Zone marathon. The iconic series will air Wednesday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. (ET/PT).

FIREFLY  FOURTH  OF JULY:

This Independence Day, SCIENCE invites viewers to celebrate by choosing Browncoats over redcoats and tuning in for an all-day marathon of its 2002 hit series FIREFLY. Complementing the 10th anniversary reunion panel that will be held at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con on July 13, the event will reintroduce viewers to the adventures of Capt. Malcom “Mal” Reynolds and his spaceship crew as they seek out (extraterrestrial) life, liberty and pursue happiness.
