Senator Pavley Introduces Bills to Protect Children of Domestic Violence

Senate Bill 910 and SB 909 will strengthen the protection of children against domestic abusers and facilitate medical screenings for them.

Senator Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) introduced two bills that focus on the safety and health risks children face, especially kids who have lived in homes with domestic violence and suffered abuse or neglect, according to a news release from the office of California State Senator Fran Pavley, who represents Senate District 27.

"Senate Bill 910 strengthens protections against convicted domestic abusers, and Senate Bill 909 facilitates medical screenings for children who are leaving a dangerous home environment," states the news release.

The bill is sponsored by the County of Los Angeles and it "closes a separate legal gap that threatens the health of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect," according to the news release.
