Sen. Fran Pavley’s Senior Scam Stopper to Help Combat Fraud

The following information is a press release from Sen. Fran Pavley.

Sen. Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) will present a seminar aimed at arming senior citizens with the information they need to protect themselves from fraud of all types.

The event will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. Friday, June 7 at the Goebel Adult Community Center, 1385 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks. 

The “Senior Scam Stopper” event will be held in conjunction with the California Contractors State License Board and the State Controller’s Office. A panel of experts will present on topics including home improvement projects, identity theft, unclaimed property fraud, auto repair, health care fraud and investments. 

A question and answer session will follow and the experts will be available both before and after the event for consultation. 

“This information is valuable to everyone, not just senior citizens,” Pavley said.  “We can all learn from this.” 

Light refreshments will be provided. 

Pavley represents the 27th District, which includes the eastern portion of Ventura County and the western portion of Los Angeles County.
