A quilt created by students at Mariposa School of Global Education was formally presented to the City Council Wednesday night.
The hand-made item, which depicts images from Agoura's past, was designed and stitched by the pupils of Sharon Fleigelman's fifth-grade class. This is the first time something of this caliber has been accomplished by her students, Fleigelman said.
The students gave the quilt to Mayor Denis Weber during his visit to the school last Friday during its morning assembly.
"I praised them for all they did and how hard they worked just to give the city a wonderful and special gift," Weber said.
The quilt was shown to the city council by Amy Jones-Brink, director of community services, and will go on display at the Reyes Adobe.
