Agoura Hills to Regulate Taxi Biz in City

The proposed new law not only defines the business, it also regulates vehicle inspections, background checks for drivers and mandatory controlled substance testing.

The city of Agoura Hills is creating a permit process for taxis.

The council on Wednesday will consider the new rules and regulations at its meeting.

In July 2013, the city took over from Los Angeles County the responsibility of licensing new businesses. But according to a report to the City Council, there were no rules in place for taxi operators.
