A man who tried to steal a woman’s car at her Agoura Hills home instead ran off with her wedding ring last week.
The woman reported that she heard a man try to start her Honda about 6:30 a.m. Dec. 9 on Canwood Street in Agoura Hills, prompting her to call the police, according to a sergeant from the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff’s Station.
She said the man tried to start her car several times, but he ran off.
A 14-karat wedding band, valued at $4,000, was taken from her center console.
The woman said she inadvertently left her window cracked open overnight.
The investigation is ongoing.
