Griffen Kramer, 18, a backup quarterback for the Thousand Oaks High School football team and the son of former NFL quarterback Erik Kramer, was found dead Sunday at a friend’s house, the Ventura County Star reported. His death may have been a result of alcohol poisoning, the report said.

"Kramer, 18, was found dead Sunday morning at the Agoura Hills home,"  said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

"In a prepared statement today, school officials said that while the cause of death was not official, 'initial indications suggest his passing was due to alcohol poisoning,'" the Star reported.

The report went on to say that Sheriff’s Sgt. Vivian May in the Lost Hills station said "it appeared Kramer might have had some kind of pre-existing medical condition; however, sheriff’s officials declined to comment on the possibility of alcohol poisoning, saying it was too early to pinpoint the cause."
