Police Blotter: Stolen Property Arrest, Fitness Studio Filched, and Thief on Shrooms

A woman is arrested for possessing stolen property, a medical office is vandalized, and a fitness studio reports missing equipment.

New month. New crimes. The beginning of February finds a nearby resident hit with four felony counts and a suspect admittedly on the psilocybin mushroom, with side effects similar to those of LSD. Agoura Hills thieves seem to be getting more and more interesting.

Woman arrested for stolen property

Jennifer Rose Sellner, 42, was arrested on Feb. 6 after a witness observed her looking into parked vehicles in the 5900 block of Dunegal Court, according to Lt. John Benedict. The responding deputies detained her at the scene and reported discovering stolen property in her possession. Malibu/Lost Hills Station detectives who then served a search warrant at Sellner's Newbury Park home said they recovered more than 150 stolen items belonging to a total of 13 victims in the surrounding area. Further charges are expected.

Blame it on the shrooms

Between Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 28 at 4:40 p.m., $168.95 worth of stereo equipment was stolen from a residence in the 29000 block of Deep Shadow Drive. Around 10 a.m. on Jan. 26, the homeowner heard knocking at her front door, went outside, and discovered a 6-foot male between 19 and 25 years old, walking toward her from the backyard. "I took some mushrooms and passed out on the hill behind your backyard, and I just woke up and I left everything in your backyard," the suspect told her before walking behind the house. The victim believes the man stole something from the BBQ pit.

Medical mutiny

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 28, the Agoura Hills Medical Plaza at 29525 Canwood St. was found vandalized. Toilet paper was strewn about the ladies' restroom and a white ceramic toilet seat was found broken in the mens restroom, with urine and blood laboratory specimens scattered on the ground. The roof access door lock was also broken. Total damage amounted to $500. The responding deputy reviewed video footage of the building, which is occupied by 30 tenants with 24-hour access, but was unable to find a suspect.

In a bend

Between Jan. 28 and Jan. 31, someone broke into a fitness studio in a suite in the 30000 block of Agoura Court. An iPod Touch ($400) and docking station ($300) were stolen, and $75 worth of damage was done to the suite's mini blinds. The victim said she left her door unlocked for a client who was to use the studio's exercise equipment during the weekend, but her client told her she was unable to use the studio over the weekend due to personal reasons. The deputy saw no evidence of forced entry.
