Man Steals $200 in Lottery Tickets in Agoura

The stolen tickets were canceled and recorded, but the man still tried to redeem them in nearby Ventura.

A man stole two packs of cigarettes and $200 worth of California Lottery tickets earlier this week in Agoura Hills.

The theft was reported on Jan. 25 at the Agoura Hills Shell Station at 5134 Kanan Road near the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills, according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

The man went up to the register and before paying for the cigarettes and 20 "scratchers" lottery tickets, he bolted out the door.

The stolen lottery tickets were recorded and canceled, but the man tried unsuccessfully to redeem them in another location in Ventura. He remains at large.
