A 21-year-old former Agoura Hills man was picked up following weeks of police investigation.

A 21-year-old former Agoura Hills man was arrested Thursday morning for possession of heroin by narcotics detectives, according to Sgt. Marc Katz from the narcotics team.

Kevin Babson was picked up at his mother's residence in Oak Park following weeks of surveillance and investigation, said Katz.

"He's pretty well-known in the community as both a user and seller of various narcotics," said Katz. "Though now he's an adult, we've known about him for years through the juvenile team."

Police made a routine traffic stop after Babson, a former Agoura High student, left his mother's home in a car, Katz said. "It was there that we found 2 grams of heroin on his person," he said

A search warrant was also served at his mother's home where additional evidence was seized, said a report issued by the sheriff's station.
