Burglars Use Unlocked Slider Door to Enter Agoura Home

Nearly $2,000 in jewelry is taken from an Agoura home.

A burglar who entered an Agoura home through an unlocked sliding door took off with $2,000 in jewelry.

The burglary was reported on Jan. 3 at the home on Via Amistosa near Agoura Road in Agoura, according to a report by the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

The burglar stole a 30-year-old men's necklace with a jade stone worth $1,000 and a woman's emerald and diamond tennis bracelet with matching earrings worth $2,000, the report states.

Responding deputies determined that the burglar entered through a side yard through an unlocked rear slider door, according to the sheriff's department.

The investigation is ongoing.
