Burglars Shatter Doorframe, Nab $6,500 in Jewelry

A neighbor said heard a loud noise and her dogs were braking, but she thought it was someone dragging the trash cans through the side yard in Agoura.

Burglars pounded a deadlock on a side garage door, shattering the frame to enter a home and steal $6,500 in jewelry at an Agoura home earlier this month.

The burglary was reported at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 11 on Deep Shadow Drive in Agoura, according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

The homeowners, who were both out of the house when the burglary occurred, came home to find their master bedroom ransacked and took the jewelry.

Investigators discovered a side garage door had been pried open, with the deadbolt forced inward, shattering the door frame.
