Agoura Hills Site of Reunion Between the Rescued and the Rescuers

Members of the public get to say thank you to L.A. County firefighters and paramedics for their heroic work.

Fire Station 89 in Agoura Hills will be the site of some special reunions Saturday, as the rescued meet their saviors.

In November 2013, paramedics responded to a 9-month-old baby choking, not breathing and turning blue in the city of Inglewood. Initial attempts to remove the obstruction were not successful, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department press release.

The paramedic, from the Ladera Heights station, however, would not give up, and eventually dislodged the plastic cap. Baby Kimball just celebrated his first birthday.

In February 2013, Courtney Jones, an aspiring model, was involved in a catastrophic motorcycle accident in Topanga that ultimately took her legs, spleen and kidney. Doctors weren't sure if she'd survive, according to the news release.

But the speed and efficiency with which she was cared to by L.A. County paramedics are credited with saving her life, officials said.
