Accident on Kanan in Agoura Causes Traffic Backup

The incident is expected to affect traffic until at least 4:30 p.m.

4:15 p.m. UPDATE: All lanes of Kanan are open.

A bulldozer overturned at 2351 Kanan Road in Agoura, near the intersection with Triunfo Canyon Road, at 1:46 p.m, according to the California Highway Patrol. The road is not closed, but northbound traffic is being diverted to the median. This has caused extreme delays for northbound and southbound traffic.

The situation is expected to remain this way until at least 4:30 p.m., a CHP dispatcher said. CHP dispatchers do not disclose their names.

“If you have an alternative route, you should take it,” he said.

Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station officials wrote in an email to Malibu Patch, “A tractor doing landscape work lost traction and slid down a hillside onto Kanan Road. One vehicle on Kanan Road was hit by the tractor. No one in the car was injured. The driver of the tractor was transported to Los Robles hospital.”

The email stated delays should be expected until 5 p.m.

According to the CHP, the driver broke his hand and had blood coming from his head.
