Blog: Cabbage Patch Dolls, iPhones, and many homes right now in the Conejo Valley. What do they all have in common?

What do these three things have in common?

A Little Market Update:  Buyers still seem to be out in droves looking for mid-priced homes here in our Agoura Hills area, even though the school year is well underway. I was showing property this last weekend, and at one home that had just gone on the market I counted five other families also there to see it, and this is just during the time we walked through it!  (FYI This house ended up receiving multiple offers).

Does anyone remember the heydays of the Cabbage Patch Dolls? (or another comparison for the rest of you could be what has been happening with the new iPhone 5's).

Well back when the Cabbage Patch Dolls came out the stores couldn't keep them on the shelves.  Each time a new batch arrived there was a feeding frenzy and people were almost getting trampled trying to buy them and waiting hours for the stores to open so that they could get their hands on one.

Has any one reading this been looking for homes lately? I am not saying you will get trampled if you are trying to buy a house right now, but I do suggest that you bring your "A" game with you when you write an offer. Make sure that you READ MORE

Either way it is wrong and uses the race card as a "despicable stunt"

Not a hate crime at all. Just a very stupid kid trying to manipulate the system so he could beRead More granted a athletic transfer. One of the kids on the "hit list" was the perp. Really despicable stunt.

It is unfortunate that this incident happened at our local schools. The crime is a result ofRead More ignorance and lack of education. All members of our community regardless of their race, creed, or religion should be respected. Perhaps our community needs to introspect and see why this occurred and how further events can be prevented.

Thanks for your great perspective on this issue. We should all unplug once in awhile.

I think for the most part, people are mentally drained. Few take the time to sit back relaxRead More anymore. Even when we do have a minute to ourselves, we're constantly bombarded with emails, text messages and status updates. If we unplugged ourselves from our devices, we might find the serenity we all so desperately need. Turn your phone off, take a hike. Find a big tree next to a creek and sit under the shade. Enjoy nature. Listen to the sound of the water, the birds and the breeze as it moves through the brush. When you get back to nature, if only for a short time, you'll leave with a clear mind and feel revitalized. You're right---technology was supposed to make our lives more simple. Instead, it fuels the attention deficit disorder as our brain becomes a hashtag with a constant barrage of (often useless) news and updates. Although I'm young, I'd give anything to go back to the days where calling someone often led to a wild goose chase of finding an available payphone and spare change to make the call.

If you can't talk politics with friends without being able to agree to disagree or even end upRead More losing them as friends then they were not the "friends" you thought they were anyway.

It's not about moving forward, it's about saving your breath! That's the whole problem; too muchRead More talk and not enough action! You gonna eat that fish or just hold it up in the air?

then again, if you only speak with people who agree with you, how do you ever move forward? aren'tRead More you just "spinning your wheels" staying in the same spot never moving forward?
