Triunfo YMCA Spring Basketball League

The Triunfo YMCA is signing up participants for its spring basketball league. Kids in kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible. The eight-game season runs from March 23 through May 24 with playoff/championship games beginning May 25. Games are held at Agoura High School (28545 W. Driver Ave., Agoura Hills). Skills assessment days are January 26, February 2 and February 9 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Deerhill Park (6700 Doubletree Rd, Oak Park).

The league is semi-competitive and is focused on skill development, sportsmanship and having fun. Every child plays and learns the essentials of teamwork through basketball. The league is co-ed league so boys and girls are welcome. No prior playing experience is necessary.

Team practices are local and games are played on Sundays. Extra weekly practices will be scheduled and available to all participants who want to further develop their basketball skills.

The league includes four divisions: kindergarten-first grade, second-third grades, fourth-fifth grades and sixth-eighth grades.

Each participant receives a uniform and trophy. The cost is $160 plus a $40 membership fee for YMCA nonmembers. The last day to register is February 16. Those participants who cannot attend a skill assessment will be randomly assigned teams.

The Triunfo YMCA serves Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village. For more information about the basketball league, contact Kyle Andrus at 818-707-9622, kandrus@triunfoymca.org.

Registration forms are available at the YMCA office (31225 La Baya Dr., #106, Westlake Village) and online at http://www.sevymca.org/triunfo/.
