  • Where/When: The Janss Mall, Saturday, 12-3 p.m.
  • Why go: Start New Year's Eve off by heading to the Janss Mall for free crafts, games and entertainment for the little ones. While you're there, be sure to take advantage of special VIP shopping discounts, available only to Kids' Zone participants and their parents.

4. Mini-Golf

5. The Rose Parade Floats, Up Close

  • Where/When: Sierra Madre and Washington boulevards in Pasadena. Monday, 1-5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Why go: You've seen those gorgeous floats on TV—why not pack up the family and admire them in real life? Every year after the Rose Parade, the floats are on display for the public to view up close.
