Web appeal is the new curb appeal. Research shows that homes with good online photos get more foot traffic and spend less time on the market. But what if you have to move before you sell? How can you leave a good online impression?

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and home staging can be worth thousands of dollars in the sales price – and cost thousands to do, especially if you’re starting from scratch; but not with virtual staging.

Instead of paying a home stager to find and rent décor and furnishings, just send in photos of an empty room and receive them back digitally staged to post on real estate websites. The costs range from about $99 to $525 depending on the number of rooms staged, versus about $2,500 for traditional staging.

Electronic staging consists of digital furnishings scaled-to-fit in the room photo, such as bedroom sets, drapes, artwork, dining tables, etc. so potential buyers can envision themselves living in the space, before they even enter it.

After all, in any market, the buyer’s perception is always the seller’s reality.
