Reyes Adobe Historical Site Hosts Holiday Events

Enjoy shopping and festivities at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site throughout the holiday season.

 

During the holiday season, the Reyes Adobe Historical Site (RAHS) will host several special events in conjunction with the Art & Gift Gallery exhibits and holiday museum store. The schedule of events is: 

Meet the Artists:

Fridays, December 7-January 4, 5-6 p.m. Art lovers and collectors are invited to discover and meet local talent. Several of the gallery's exhibiting artists will be participating each week, including Priscilla Kromnick, Beverly Lazor, Barron Postmus, Adam Moskowitz, Larry Deeds, Julie Buckley and Wes Van Dyke, to discuss and sign their work. Agoura Hills is home to many nationally acclaimed authors who will be discussing their work through stories and song at the adobe. Books are available at the RAHS gallery. The book discussions with personalized signings are 12-2 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Saturday, December 8: Author Brian Rooney of Three Magical Miles
  • Sunday, December 9: Co-authors Harry Medved, Harvey Kern, David E. Ross and Derek Ross of Oak Park and author Susan Pascal of the upcoming book, Agoura Hills 
  • Saturday, December 15: Children authors Ruti Lopata of Colors, Cindy Simmons of Bad Bill and the Marshmallows with a sing along and Scot A. Simmons of Mr. Coleman.

Meet Santa:

Also on Saturday, December 8, from 12-2 p.m., families are invited to enjoy gingerbread cookies and cider with Santa Claus. Bring a camera for pictures. The event is free.

Organized by the Agoura Hills Cultural Arts Council, the Art & Gift Gallery offers prints, paintings, handmade crafts and gifts–jewelry, scarves, aprons, bags, cards, candles, decorative items, books and more.Purchases help support artists of the Conejo Valley and the RAHS.

Shopping hours for the gift gallery run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17 to January 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Complimentary wrapping is available, and there is no admission charge to shop in the museum's gallery store.
