Art & Gift Gallery at the Adobe Opens for Holiday Shopping

Pick up gifts for your friends and family at this brand new event being held at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site throughout the holiday season.

Agoura Hills will be bringing a new kind of holiday shopping experience to the public this season with the Art & Gift Gallery at the Adobe.

The gallery store, located in the historic barn at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site (RAHS), will feature many handmade crafts and gifts–jewelry, scarves, aprons, bags, cards, candles, decorative items, books and more. Also on display will be prints and paintings by 20 local artists, available for purchase.

Organized by the Agoura Hills Cultural Arts Council, the Art & Gift Gallery at the Adobe helps support both artists of the Conejo Valley and the RAHS.

Among the selection of unusual gift ideas are vintage handmade items that highlight local history by artist Cim Castellon, a member of the arts council. The Gift Gallery provides a new way for art lovers and investors to connect with local artists and see samples of their work.

During the holiday season, the gallery will also host "meet the artist events" and book signings with local authors.

Shopping hours for the gift gallery run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17 to January 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Complimentary wrapping is available.

There is no admission charge to shop in the museum's gallery store.

The Reyes Adobe Historical Site is located at 30400 Rainbow Crest Drive, (next to Reyes Adobe Park).

Visit the website reyesadobeartgallery.com. for more information and a listing of the arts and cultural events happening during the holidays.

The information we received from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's station was that a mentally illRead More patient was removed from the bus Sunday night. No one was harmed, officials said.

Either way it is wrong and uses the race card as a "despicable stunt"

Not a hate crime at all. Just a very stupid kid trying to manipulate the system so he could beRead More granted a athletic transfer. One of the kids on the "hit list" was the perp. Really despicable stunt.

It is unfortunate that this incident happened at our local schools. The crime is a result ofRead More ignorance and lack of education. All members of our community regardless of their race, creed, or religion should be respected. Perhaps our community needs to introspect and see why this occurred and how further events can be prevented.

Thanks for your great perspective on this issue. We should all unplug once in awhile.

I think for the most part, people are mentally drained. Few take the time to sit back relaxRead More anymore. Even when we do have a minute to ourselves, we're constantly bombarded with emails, text messages and status updates. If we unplugged ourselves from our devices, we might find the serenity we all so desperately need. Turn your phone off, take a hike. Find a big tree next to a creek and sit under the shade. Enjoy nature. Listen to the sound of the water, the birds and the breeze as it moves through the brush. When you get back to nature, if only for a short time, you'll leave with a clear mind and feel revitalized. You're right---technology was supposed to make our lives more simple. Instead, it fuels the attention deficit disorder as our brain becomes a hashtag with a constant barrage of (often useless) news and updates. Although I'm young, I'd give anything to go back to the days where calling someone often led to a wild goose chase of finding an available payphone and spare change to make the call.

If you can't talk politics with friends without being able to agree to disagree or even end upRead More losing them as friends then they were not the "friends" you thought they were anyway.

It's not about moving forward, it's about saving your breath! That's the whole problem; too muchRead More talk and not enough action! You gonna eat that fish or just hold it up in the air?
Dave April 7, 2013 at 07:29 am
then again, if you only speak with people who agree with you, how do you ever move forward? aren'tRead More you just "spinning your wheels" staying in the same spot never moving forward?
