Did You Celebrate Diwali?

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Lilburn, GA, celebrates Diwali.

Last night I went to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Lilburn to celebrate Diwali.  I've been to this place a few times already to take pictures.  It is an architectural marvel that you have to see if you haven't been there before.  You can easily spend hours taking in the hand carved details all around the building inside and out.

During Diwali they lit up the building at night in an array of multiple colors.  The smell of incense lingered everywhere.  The fireworks and music show started at 8pm, and it a sensory experience I'll never forget.

And I should mention that it was a spectacular event which helped me understand a little of the cultural ideas of the people of the mandir. Truly worth the time to attend.

I don't care how many times you post it on the internet, there are lots of people who don't have access to a computer. This should be made aware to the people of Lilburn in some other way. Just not handled in a very good manner.

Next time, I'll try to put it in a more prominent place and in the comments. Y'all give me a shout if you know of something going on that's not on Patch, too! We'll help each other spread the word.
