Get Out for Some Weekend Fun: Sept. 7-9

Here are some events and activities taking place in and around the neighborhood this weekend.

We know you don't always stay in the neighborhood for the weekend, so here are some  nearby things to do Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Ferris Bueller Screening: Watch Ferris Beuller's Day Off in 's main quade at 7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $3. The movie begins at dusk. Agour High at 28545 Driver Drive, Agoura Hills.

Senior Scam Stopper Seminar: Senator Fran Pavley is hosting a scam prevention seminar for seniors Friday in Tarzana. Learn about legislation and types of scams that are targeting seniors and how to avoid falling prey to them! The free seminar will feature experts from governmental agencies who will present on topics including home improvement projects, identity theft, auto repair and investments. It runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Providence Tarzana Medical Center, 18321 Clark St., Tarzana.

Commedy of Errors: See Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts at 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Tickets to this are $15. The play runs through Sept. 16.

Malibu Creek Healing Project: Heal the Bay's Stream Team is partnering with the Mountains Restoration Trust to restore areas of Malibu Creek and its tributaries. This event will take place at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at  in a shady area in the Tapia Unit of the Malibu State Park. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, a snack, sunscreen and hat. Gloves and tools will be provided. Space is limited, so reservations are required. . The park is at 1925 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas.

Three Amigos Screening: Eat|See|Hear, a traveling outdoor movie, food truck and live music event series goes all over Los Angeles and will land in Northridge Saturday to screen Three Amigos. The event will feature a three-and-a-half story tall and 52-feet wide screen as well as a variety of food trucks. General admission passes are $10 ($8 for kids under 12; Children under 5 are free). A limited number of "Fashionably Late" passes, which guarantee a prime location in the venue regardless of what time you arrive, are available for $20. Bring low chairs and blankets to sit on. The show takes place from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Northridge Little League park, 18805 Devonshire St., Northridge.
