The Power of Christmas TOGETHER

There is something to be said about Christmas traditions, family gatherings, the foods of the season and the songs of the holiday.  Each of these are powerful because they carry with them fond memories and deep meaning.

Holidays…HOLY-days…have power.

Could you use more power in your life?

Me too!

One way to find power through the Christmas season is to experience the season together with others.

God has always intended that we do life TOGETHER.

He created us to find community TOGETHER; to get through struggles TOGETHER; and to celebrate Joy TOGETHER.

Jesus said, we even experience His presence in our life more tangibly…not alone, but when we are gathered TOGETHER.

“For when two or three are gathered TOGETHER as My followers, there I am among them.”            Matthew 18:20

As I was reading the Christmas story once again, it struck me how often I focus on the individuals of Christmas and miss the powerful, deeper truth that Christmas only happened because a lot of people were used collectively to bring Christ to the world.

Think about it.

There’s Caesar and Herod, the shepherds and angels, Joseph and Mary, the wise men and the Inn Keeper; there’s Simeon in the temple and Anna, there’s Elizabeth and Zechariah. Each of these together were threads in the fabric of Christmas and without them as part of the story, there would have been no Christmas.

For this Christmas, attend a party, invite friends over, gather with family, and attend church with a group.  Do things together.  Watch the power of Christ fill your season in ways you may have never imagined.  God has always done His best work when we are TOGETHER!
