Dylan, a 3-year-old Labrador mix, was named after the ever-elusive master himself: Bob Dylan. Why? Because he is a lovable, unique and somewhat reluctant in all the same ways as Dylan himself.
After his owner died, Dylan was was left on his own. He was running in the canyons for quite awhile, kind of 'blowin’ in the wind,' until he was caught and brought to the Agoura shelter.
At first he wanted nothing to do with people, but a small group of volunteers kept going into his kennel to talk to him. They also offered him treats until, eventually, he felt secure enough to take them from their hands.
'Like a rolling stone,' he moved to allowing a leash to be put on and going for walks. Once he learned to trust, he made great strides.
His big turning point came on one of his walks when the volunteers discovered that he loves other dogs. He has a tail wag for all he meets, but one special girl, Nini, really caught his eye, and they have been together as playmates ever since. Nini has been like a therapy dog for Dylan and has played a major role in coaxing him out of his shell. (Nini is still looking for a home, too. Maybe you would like to adopt both of them; she is in kennel #17)
He has now gone on a couple of car rides and is ready for his forever home. He really does need a special, very patient someone who will go slowly with him as he gets to know his new surroundings and learns to trust. He really does shine once you get to know him and would be well suited going to a home with other dogs.
Ask to meet him today.
