Tight Budget, Laughable Sports

The city announces its budget for the next fiscal year and a video on Agoura High's final Comedy Sportz improv game gains the most attention this week.

Despite a trimmed budget, the Agoura Hills' city manager announced several transportation-related project for next year.

Agoura High School's Comedy Sportz team held its final game of the year.

MONDAY

The westbound 101 Freeway at Chesebro Road was closed Monday for a police investigation into the previous day's suspicious motorcycle accident.

Contributor Susan Hampar posted two stories on Agoura High School's drama department--one on the drama banquet and the other on Comedy Sportz' funny finale.

TUESDAY

We spotlighted Agoura Hills' top five sandwiches along with Coffee with the Deputies at the Corner Bakery in Calabasas.

WEDNESDAY

We covered Colonial Days at Heschel West Day School and posted a video of the Agoura High School student representatives honored at the Las Virgenes Unified School District board meeting.

THURSDAY

We posted a story about the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District's budget for next year and featured two Agoura Hills volunteers who were honored at an American Cancer Society event the night before.

FRIDAY

School stories posted on Friday were centered around Yerba Buena Elementary. We covered the awareness assembly and posted the students' impressive slideshow that featured "YB Happenings." 

We also discussed the city's 2010/11 budget, on top of featuring the new bar in town--Slingers, and giving readers the lowdown on watching UFC for free at Pikey's Pub.

SATURDAY

We showcased the Agoura Hills Library's Book Cellar and World Cup patrons at Pikey's.

Fit Agoura this week spotlighted the Big Fish Boxing Club on Canwood Road. And Patch's Hometown Hero was Alex Lebowitz.

SUNDAY

We posted an Agoura Pony Baseball slideshow.
