Sept. 1: Chili Cook-Off; Reyes Adobe Days Website

There's lots to do this holiday weekend.

 

1. The Forecast: Sunny, 94

2. Malibu Chili Cook-Off

This 31st annual event, hosted by the Malibu Kiwanis, takes place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Civic Center Way at Stuart Ranch Road in Malibu. In addition to chili, the cook-off features a carnival, fair, entertainment, a silent auction and food for sale. The entrance fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 11 years. 3. L.A. County Fair

Looking to head out of town? The Los Angles County Fair runs from Aug. 31 through Sept. 30. Billing itself as the largest county fair in North America. This year the L.A. County Fair has an entertainment lineup including The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen, Grand Funk Railroad and Burtbon Cummings, the B52s, Styx, George Benson and Chaka Khan, oyz ll Men, the Charlie Daniels Band and Earth, Wind and Fire. This weekend, the fair will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Weekend admission is $17 for those 13 and older, $12 for children 6 to 12, $13 for seniors 60 and older and children 5 and younger get in free.

4. Fairy Tales in the Park

Fairy Tales in the Park, staged by Gypsies in a Trunk, will offer a free performance of Chicken Little at 11:30 a.m. at Foxfield Park, 31965 Foxfield Drive, Westlake Village. The show is free, but donations are accepted.

5. Reyes Adobe Days Website

If you haven't already, check out the City's new website devoted to all things Reyes Adobe Days. This year highlights Agoura's 30th anniversary as a city and runs from Oct. 5-7.
