Sensitive Cat Needs Nurturing Home

Emma's situation is special and unique for the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter.

Emma is a 6-year-old, soft grey and white spayed female who needs patient, loving care. She is a healthy but sensitive cat.

Emma, along with a companion cat, was brought to the Agoura shelter by their owners of some years when they could no longer care for them. This move affected both of them negatively. Fortunately, a caring family chose to adopt the pair. They were sent home and all was thought to be well. However, Emma was brought back sick with a temporary but life-threatening liver condition due to not eating.

With funding provided by a non-profit group, she was taken to a private veterinary hospital where she has been ever since. After a week of care, she began eating on her own and is now fully recovered.

All Emma needs now, besides a nurturing environment, is a continuation of the attention she has been receiving as well as a monitoring of her food intake to make sure she continues to eat. Emma needs a home where she can get the understanding and patient care a shy cat needs.

The doctors and staff at the hospital have had their hearts captured by her demure nature. They wish to keep her at their facility to make sure she continues eating properly and not have to be exposed to the stress of shelter life. Although she is a shelter pet, it is best that she be adopted from the veterinary clinic.
