Rain to Follow Wind

The National Weather Service is predicting showers for Friday.

The strong winds that blew through Agoura Hills Wednesday should be gone by Thursday, only to likely be followed by rain on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The service is predicting a slight chance of showers Thursday, with a high of 74 degrees and low of 46 degrees, but the liklihood of rain increases to 60 percent on Friday with a drop in temperature to 60 degrees, high, and a low of 39 degrees.

In a special weather statement issued for Ventura, San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles counties, the Weather Service described Friday's expected temperatures and rain as a cold winter-like Pacific weather system.

"A surface cold front associated with this system will move through the region Thursday night, with a chance of showers for many areas. The more significant effects will occur on Friday ... with unseasonably cold temperatures and plenty of showers," the statement said.

The rain may last into early Friday evening before tapering off overnight.
