PHOTOS: See Images of the Solar Eclipse as it Happens

See the eclipse here!

Lacking the patience to sit in traffic going up to the Griffith Observatory (its website warns of "heavy traffic and parking congestion") I decided to make a device with which to watch the solar eclipse, which is due to start at 5:24 p.m. PDT.

I made a solar eclipse viewer by following these instructions. Remember, never look directly at the sun.

I'll be uploading photos of the eclipse as it happens!

Are you watching the eclipse? Let us know by leaving a comment in the box below.

Thank you, Agoura Patch! For sharing these and for WARNING AND REMINDING your loyal readers (and their familes) not to look directly at the sun...unfortunately! I have found thru my FB page that many people and even friends were not aware of the steps needed to do it safely! Many kids will (hopefully not!) have damaged their vision permanetly... most of the major media was reckless in advertising the event while ignoring to publish precautions as you did! Kudos to the AP!
