Gas Prices Rise Sharply

The average price for self-serve regular is at its highest amount since June 8.

The average price of gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1.3 cents today to $4.154 for a gallon of self-serve regular, its highest amount since June 8 and its biggest daily increase since Aug. 12.

The average price is 3.5 cents more than a week ago, 32.2 cents higher than a month ago and up 34 cents over the past year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen for six consecutive days, increasing 3.5 cents over that span, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price also recorded its largest daily increase since Aug. 12 today, rising 1.1 cents to $4.132, its highest amount since June 7. It is 3.7 cents more than a week ago, 32.4 cents higher than one month ago and 32.3 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen for seven consecutive days, increasing 3.7 cents over that span, including a half-cent on Tuesday.
