Filling Up in Agoura Hills: Don't Bother Looking for Bargains

Residents of the 91301 are paying a dime or more than the Los Angeles County average for regular unleaded gasoline.

The American Automobile Association reported on Jan. 13 that the county's average price for a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.34.

We cruised the city in search of price wars, but learned that gasoline costs were nearly uniform throughout the area and not cheap.

We found that the Chevron on Kanan Road at Roadside Drive had one of the top prices at $3.55 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas, while the Shell station on Reyes Adobe at Agoura Road had the cheapest, at $3.35 for regular unleaded.

Here is the tally of gas prices in Agoura from lowest to highest as of Wednesday:

: This station at 30245 Agoura Rd. is the cheapest we could find in the area.  Regular unleaded goes for $3.35, followed by $3.45 for plus and $3.55 for premium.

: Right across the street, the Mobile at 4950 Reyes Adobe Rd. is selling gas beginning at $3.39 for regular unleaded, $3.49 for plus and $3.59 for premium.

:  This low-cost station at 5000 Kanan Rd. tied with Mobile with $3.39 for regular unleaded, $3.49 for plus and $3.59 for premium.

on Kanan Road and of Chesebro Road: These stations tied at the same prices for gas, with regular at $3.49, plus at $3.49 and premium at $3.69.

: This station off Chesebro Road though regular gas goes for $3.49 and plus is at $3.59, premium gas here is $3.70.

Chevron on Kanan and on Reyes Adobe Road: These stations have the highest gas prices in Agoura Hills with a whopping $3.55 for regular unleaded. The cost goes up to $3.65 for plus and $3.75 for premium. 

To be fair, the swanky 76 station offers a car wash, a gourmet deli, Pete's Coffee and Surf City Squeeze smoothies, which makes it easy for one-stop shopping.
