Earthquake Strikes Off the Coast of Malibu

A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck 8 miles from Malibu Monday night, seismologists report.

Seismologists have confirmed a computer-generated report with information about a 3.3-magnitude earthquake that struck 8 miles from Malibu at approximately 11:26 p.m. Monday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey website, this quake was minor and there have been at least eight smaller quakes in Southern California within the last week.

The USGS reported the tremor striking about 11 miles southwest of Agoura Hills.
