Do You Know Someone in Japan Affected by the Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster?

An 8.9-magnitude earthquake shook Japan, causing a devastating tsunami. Are your family and friends OK? Let us know.

After one of the largest earthquakes in history hit Japan Thursday, more than 900 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands of people are stranded throughout the country. Many are having trouble communicating with friends and loved ones outside of Japan.

Travel on public transportation is expected to be scant for days, and some have reported issues with credit or debit card machines, keeping them trapped without a ticket home. Red Cross has deployed 63 teams with food and tools, but it asks people to attend local blood drives to help prepare for any aid assistance required.
