Dec. 11: Westlake's Winter Wonderland; Los Robles Master Chorale

Head to Westlake Village for its Winter Wonderland 30th anniversary celebration, watch the Los Robles Master Chorale concert or board the Polar Express.

1. The Forecast: Partly sunny with a chance of showers

It will be partly sunny with a high near 55. There is a 30 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is coming to Westlake on its 30th anniversary! Build snowmen, throw snowballs and go sledding. Or make cookies, board a train and listen to some local entertainment.

The event will take place at Berniece Bennett Park, 31800 Village Center Drive, Westlake Village, from 1-5 p.m.

3. Los Robles Master Chorale at Ascension Lutheran Church

Bring the entire family and watch Holiday Treasures, the annual holiday concert of the Los Robles Master Chorale, at 2 p.m. The performance will feature seasonal choral classics as Roger Wagner’s The Christmas Story according to Saint Luke, Alfred Burt’s classic carols, contemporary songs by Eric William Barnum and Michael W. Smith, and sacred pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, Lloyd Pfautsch, Franz Biebl and John Rutter.

4. A Magical Journey Aboard the Polar Express

Hurry and catch the Polar Express! The kids' festival, holiday boutique and family show "departs" at 3 p.m. from 456 N Reino Rd, Newbury Park.

All passengers who come in their pajamas will be entered in a drawing for a  special 20th Anniversary Edition of the "Polar Express" book!

5. Everything You Wanted to Know About Genetic Genealogy

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County will host a talk about genes, DNA and how DNA is inherited. Featuring speaker Stephen Morse, everyone is invited to this free event at 2420 E Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, starting at 1:30 p.m.
