Art for Education

The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual art auction scholarship fundraiser on March 29.

The Greater Conejo Valley Community Foundation, the Chamber's charitable arm, will host an art auction on March 29 to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors from the and the Conejo Valley School District.

Scholarships are bestowed each spring to qualified area high school seniors who are employed in the community while they attend school.

According to Jan Smith, event organizer, one student from each school is chosen to receive the award, which is forwarded to his or her school of choice.

Artwork has been donated by people from all over the Conejo Valley, said Smith.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Best Western Plus Thousand Oaks Inn from 6-8 p.m.

Members of the community will have an opportunity to bid on paintings, photography, posters and more.
